My name is Ksenia, or Kay, and I’m excited to have you here! 2024 was a year filled with lots of changes and obstacles in my personal and professional life, and I realized it was time to focus on things that actually mattered. It was time to start focusing on happiness. Exploring new places and going on adventures is something I absolutely love and am excited to share those experiences with you. When I’m not on an adventure or planning the next one, you’ll often find me with my nose buried in a book, discovering new worlds through the pages. Visiting Finland

What does 3 flights get you? A trip that looks like you just stepped into a magical winter wonderland, straight out of a fairytale. Nestled in the northernmost region of Finland, Lapland offers an enchanting mix of natural beauty, unique experiences, and the captivating magic of the Arctic. Something that was a must for me, was witnessing the mesmerizing Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis. I was lucky enough to see the vibrant, dancing lights in the night sky on two separate occasions.

You can’t visit Lapland and not do a husky safari. There are a multitude of safaris available, Hetta Huskies was my top choice. It was about 4 hours away from the Air Bnb, but the drive alone was worth it. Gliding through the snow-covered forests, pulled by a team of enthusiastic huskies is an exhilarating experience that lets you connect with nature and the region’s rich sledding tradition.

For those who love the cold, and you have to love the cold to visit Lapland in the winter, a visit to the Snow Village is a must. This incredible structure, built entirely of snow and ice, every year, features carved ice sculptures, an ice bar, and even an ice hotel where you can spend the night. This year’s theme was Under the Sea, and the creativity and intricacies of the ice sculptures were a true testament to human creativity and the beauty of winter.

Lapland, Finland, is a destination that captures the imagination and leaves a lasting impression. With its stunning natural beauty, unique experiences, and the magic of the Arctic, it’s a place that should be on everyone’s travel bucket list. Whether you’re chasing the Northern Lights, exploring the snowy wilderness, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the winter landscape, Lapland promises an unforgettable adventure.
